What do Abitibi Consolidated, Emballage Stone and Cascades have in common? They have used the biodegradable and non toxic products as well as GOTAR Technologies' expertise to clean their vacuum pumps. And the results have been more than just satisfactory!

Scale build-up problems

NASH pumps problems are related to the very nature of their use. These pictures demonstrate some pumps at Perkins Papers (Cascades). These equipement will generally suction humidity (on average 80% air and 20% water) from paper rollers in the predrying phase. Scale deposits form inside the pumps and cause operating trouble or even pump failure if the problem is not adressed on time.

Scale build-up will create suction problems. As the pump’s engine must compensate the growing friction caused by the presence of scale, energy consumption increases along with the wear and tear of the engine. There is also the risk of pump seizure with all the problems that come along.

Better productivity with less downtime

At Perkins, the thorough cleaning of NASH pumps with Gotar products allows the equipment to function for approximatively two years before another cleaning is required.

For Emballage Stone in New-Richmond, their previous method was to use traditional acids every three months to clean the pumps. With Gotar products, only one cleaning every 8 to 10 months is required. This means 3 times less downtimeÖ Numbers tell their own storyÖ
